Dr. Seuss Field Day- Station 10

Station 10- Green Eggs and HamI recently learned about an awesome Dr. Seuss-inspired field day planned and organized by Patti, an elementary school PE teacher. Here is one of her 21 stations:

Station 10

Title: GREEN EGGS AND HAM: “SAM I AM” relay race

Skills: EYE HAND COORDINATION, BALANCE AND AGILITY

Description: DIVIDE STUDENTS INTO 5 TEAMS. STUDENTS PLACE A PIECE OF HAM (orange bean bag) ON THEIR HEAD (FOR THE K-1 GRADES THEY CAN PLACE THE HAM ON THE OTHER HAND FLAT LIKE A WAITER’S TRAY.)  PLACE AN EGG ON THE SPOON. ON GO, STUDENTS WILL HOLD 1 HAND TO HOLD THE SPOON. STUDENTS WILL RACE DOWN AROUND THE CONE AND BACK IF THE EGG OR HAM FALLS, THE STUDENT MUST STOP PUT THEM BACK ON AND CONTINUES. THIS IS A NEVER-ENDING RELAY WHERE THEY KEEP GOING UNTIL TIME IS UP.
