When I saw these pictures (submitted by a fellow teacher), I just HAD to recreate this cute idea! It’s one of the cutest (and easiest) teacher appreciation gifts I’ve seen in a while… and who doesn’t like s’mores?!

Here’s what you need:

ziplock bag (sandwich size)
chocolate (snack size)
marshmallow (not the mini ones)
graham cracker (1 rectangle broken into 2 squares)
the bag tag (printable below)

Put everything in the bag and attach the tag (fold in half, so you can read both sides properly). Done!

Full Throttle to the Finish (End-of-the-Year Bulletin Board)

Full Throttle to the Finish Bulletin Board Printable It’s hard to keep kids motivates at the end of the year. Sometimes it’s good to have an activity that will give everyone a quick break. Here’s a bulletin board idea that will do just that. Click here to see my Back To school Bus and Just Keep Truckin’ posts (similar bulletin board ideas). First, have the students make their car (directions on the printable itself and also below).

Decorate your car according to these directions:

Draw yourself in the window.
Write your name and favorite number on the door.
1. In the bottom half of the car’s body, draw a picture of something you’ve accomplished this year.
If you are a boy, draw stripes in the wheels. If you are a girl, draw dots in the wheels. Use your favorite color.
Color rest of the car using your favorite color.

Once all the students finish, have each student present their car to the rest of the class. If your class is large, limit each student to 1 minute to share or allow students to only share their car with those near them. Then put each car up on a bulletin board and call it something clever (“Full Throttle to the Finish”, “Travelling Down the Road to Success”, or something…).

End of the Year Round Up

The last day of school’s kind of a bust. You can’t really do anything productive since the kids are completely wound up (and you’re probably busy packing up your classroom for the summer). So finding non-crazy (but still fun) things to do is hard. That’s why many teachers do some kind of end of the year review project where kids can capture a snapshot of the year. in a fun way. Book Report Poster (UPDATED)

Thank you to Diane for submitting this fun book report poster. It’s legal size (paper) worksheet and is great for lower grades (or as an easy project for upper grades). Great end of the year project (present on your favorite book from the year) or as an end of the quarter/semester project.

End of the Year Awards (44 Printable Certificates)

Many teachers give out classroom award certificates at the end of the year. But there’s always those few kids who are hard to find an award for. And who has time to come up with gobs of awards that fit their students. Well, look no more! Here are 44 (yes, 44) pre-made award certificates for you to print off, fill out and distribute! If you plan on teaching for multiple years, it might save you time in the long run to print off a set and sign them (your
name only, not the date or grade) and save them in a folder so you don’t have to find them and sign them next year.

I’ve also included a End of the Year Awards- Tracking Sheet for you to write down who gets which award in case the end of the year gets a little hectic. This is what the awards look like:

Dr. Seuss Field Day- Station 21

I recently learned about an awesome Dr. Seuss-inspired field day planned and organized by Patti, an elementary school PE teacher. Here is the last of her 21 stations:

Station 21

Title: “The Sneeches Frankfurter Roasts”

Skills: relaxation

Description: This is the refreshment and first aid station. Students are to get a cup of water. If they want another please have them reuse and fill up the same cup. Also, each student gets 1 otter pop (no color picking they can trade with a class mate if they like). There will be extra BANDAIDS here if a student needs them.

[Your school could also have a picnic lunch or snack bar at this station.]
