For whatever reason, sometimes kids have a hard time realizing how simple it is to add with tens. Here’s a short (HALF SHEET) worksheet to help reinforce some basic number sense with tens. Run off copies for HALF the number of students in your class since there are two copies per page. Then cut the sheet in half and distribute. Merry Christmas!

Here’s a fun activity to use in a unit on symmetry or during a discussion of story setting (since lots of holiday stories take place at a gingerbread house!). Print off one page for each student and have them finish the rest of the picture. Make sure to help students focus on whatever aspect you’re learning about (symmetry, setting description, etc). You could extend this activity further by turning it into a writing project. …Or just color it and have fun! Thanksgiving Color By Number (odd/evens sort)

This Thanksgiving color by number page seems appropriate for 3rd or 4th grade, depending on your students. It requires kids to determine if a number is in a certain number range and then if it’s odd or even (creating 8 possible groups where the number fits, which indicates the color for that section of the picture).
