List of Patriotic American Songs (And YouTube Video Links)

A friend of mine plays patriotic songs in her classroom all year long. After all, appreciation for your country shouldn’t just happen on holidays. Whether it’s during clean up time, line up time or as a reward, her kids LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing these songs! Most of the kids have even learned the words too! How great would it be if the rising generation could regain the fire of patriotism of the past?!

Veteran’s Day Craft for kids

I saw this picture on Pinterest (follow me!) and I knew I had to share it! It’s a paper soldier in a camo uniform. You can make the camo part by sponge painting with brown and green paint, or by gluing brown and green squares of tissue paper to the outfit. Such a cute Veteran’s Day craft for kids! Heart!

Veterans’ Day Worksheet UPDATED

Here’s what every kid should know about Veterans’ Day and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. This is probably an upper grade worksheet because of the reading level, but it would also be great as a whole class discussion for lower grades. Yay America!

Answers:

We remember veterans of all wars the US has fought.
The US president places a wreath on the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
“Armistice” means a truce, or an agreement made by opposing sides in a war to stop the fighting.
