Word clouds are fun. So why not use them in your classroom!? This page lists a bunch of spring-themed words in cloud form. Kids should color each word a specific color based on its part of speech.

I absolutely loved this idea! It might work better with upper grades, since I don’t think younger kids have had enough exposure to memes to get as much out of this activity. This post from Mrs. Orman’s classroom talks about five ways to use memes in the classroom. Here are the five ideas:
Even if you don’t think using memes in your classroom will work well, her examples are HILARIOUS and totally worth the read!
Another grammar practice activity! This one’s disguised as poetry and centers around springtime. So grab your bonnet and sit among the flowers while you work on this language arts activity! This picture was too cute not to use. So I turned it into a story starter for spring. Have your students review the parts of a story and then plan each part of their story (using the attached planning page) before they get to work on any of their drafts. Once they’ve had a peer edit it, and they’ve written their final draft, they can color the large version of the picture and display it with their final piece. Super fun, and super cute. What’s not to love!?

I can’t wait to try this idea! The prompt is a picture: a dog in a bath tub. Students should plan each part of the story (setting, characters, problem, solution) and then put together a rough draft. This will work nicely with a unit on parts of a story.
