How about a cute popsicle stick scarecrow? Click here for directions.

I absolutely loved this one! The Mayflower often gets forgotten among Thanksgiving crafts but this hand print Mayflower craft is too cute and too easy NOT to do! Get directions here.

Make a thankful leaf wreath (say that 3 times fast!).
Sorry, no directions available, but here’s where I found the photo.

Candy Thank You Notes for Teachers & Staff

A fellow teacher recently showed me this thank you note she had received at Christmas time.

Candy Card- original

It made me think of a few things:

  1. How good it feels to be appreciated.
  2. How many people it takes to run a good school.
  3. How I show my appreciation to those I work with.

I’ve created this thank you printable (3 color options: blue, green and pink) to make it easier to show your appreciation to your fellow faculty and staff members. I know I don’t always have the budget or time to get a gift for each person who helps me in my job (librarian, cafeteria staff, maintenance staff, office workers, aides, etc.). So if you’re like me, feel free to print this page and attach some goodies (Snickers, Smarties and peanuts/any peanut candy). Be sure to write the recipient’s name in the blank space at the bottom. (These are also great for PTA/PTO groups doing teacher appreciation day.) Spread the love and your school will be all the better for it!

Snowball Fight Grammar Worksheet

snowball fight- grammar STICKER

I love these cartoons from my dad. They definitely deserve a fun story. So here’s my winter-themed grammar practice page! Click here for the printable PDF: snowball fight- grammar

One of my readers noticed a small mistake on the page (Thanks KW!). See if your kids can find it! (HINT: the directions should say: Be sure to use correct transitions, grammar and spelling, or Santa might not be convinced.)

Even More Holiday Kids Crafts!

Yay for holiday crafts! Here are some good ones…

1. Paper Plate Santa
Paper Plate SantaCut out the center of a paper plate, attach cotton balls for a beard and construction paper for a hat. I love this Santa craft because your children get to be the face of Santa! (source)

2.  Q-Tip Snowman Painting

I hate cleaning paint brushes, so this craft project totally speaks to me. Paint everything by dabbing paint-dipped Q-tips. it makes super cute snowflakes! And when you’re done, just throw away the “brushes!” (source)

3. Thumb print string of lights

Using your sharpie, draw a string for your lights on your paper. Then have kids stamp their  thumb in different colors all along the light string and allow to dry. When it dries, draw a squiggly for the light bulb base with a permanent marker. (source)

Holiday Memories Page

Holiday Memories STICKER

I love hearing my parents talk about their Christmas memories. What I love even more is reading about them in their journals from when they were kids. This is why I decided to make a “holiday memories page” to use as a fun holiday writing project for kids. There are two versions of this page- one with space to draw a picture, and one without. Here are the free printable PDFs: Holiday Memories – draw own picture and Holiday Memories – with picture. Merry Christmas!
